Despite global awareness of recycling plastics, it’s easy for people to slip back into bad habits. The American Chemistry Council set out to create an entertaining and educational experience that would reinforce positive recycling behaviors.
We turned to casual mobile gaming to make that connection. Our version of a “toss” style game took a whimsical approach using everything from monkeys hanging from a kitchen ceiling to penguins on a basketball court; we even featured a recycling container as the model on a fashion runway. Cartoon animals looked on as you played.
The educational experience was served in two ways. One presented simple factoids prior to play; the second provided simple calculations to demonstrate how many plastic water bottles were needed to create a post-recycled product.
